Michelle grew up with Scottish music and cannot remember a time when she did not know how to ceilidh dance.
In Caithness Michelle won Scots song and Scots fiddle competitions and became a member, and then leader, of the Caithness Junior Fiddlers. When she moved to Edinburgh Michelle joined the Edinburgh University Musical Medics Choir and Orchestra, and it was there that the idea for the ceilidh band was born. With four other violinists in the group it was an ideal opportunity for Michelle to learn the bass guitar.
Michelle is always on the lookout for new or forgotten ceilidh dances to add to the band's repertoir and is always ready to join in the dancing.
